death by paper cut

{July 10, 2005}   who needs to get high?

there is something exquisitely indulging about misery.

in high-fidelity, nick hornby said that “its brillant being depressed because you can do anything you like.”

misery should be bottled up and sold as a nasal spray.

depressants will be the more potent end of the spectrum of habit-forming drugs.

anti-depressants are passe.

who needs to get high?

when you’re feeling anguished, dejected, desolate, despondent, destroyed, doleful, dolorous, down, downcast, forlorn, gloomy, melancholy, mournful, pained, pathetic, pitiable, racked, rueful, sad, sorrowful, tormented, tortured, troubled, woebegone, wretched, you can practice unrestrained naval-gazing and mud-wallowing.
