{January 14, 2007}   Melbourne Immigration Museum – Bollywood Dreams

till 28 january, the bollywood dreams exhibition is on display at the Immigration Museum. the photographic exhibition by jonathan torgovnik captures endearing behind the scenes moments in the production of a bollywood film. titled how to make it big in bollywood, the nine 5 minutes interviews which comes up close and personal with a variety of stakeholders in the bollywood film industry piqued my interest most. these mini-documentaries reveals an intimate proximity with the unsung heros ranging from the stunt director, the cinematographer and the lyricist.

today showcased a one day only bollywood kids fest. as you might expect, children dressed up in sari(s) and choli(s) grooved to moves of the bollywood dance instructors. the kids also had a hand at designing their own traditional indian outfits and setting the stage of a bollywood scene with paper cut outs.
