an image of an exploding star.

i love the constellations, deep space, astronomy, etc. i don’t claim to understand the finer point of it, which in fact increased my fascination and wonderment of the cosmos. makes me want to hitch hike the galaxy ala douglas adams.

i love the way this next (possibly visible from earth) star explosion might take place:

And even at 240 million light years away, this star in a distant galaxy does suggest that a similar and relatively nearby star — one 44 trillion miles away — might blow in similar fashion any day now or 50,000 years from now
