death by paper cut

{December 15, 2007}   work in progress

since coming back, the recurring thing i’ve noticed amidst all the novelty of the new/relocated/closed down is the fact that singapore has noticeably embarked on a lot of construction projects. i don’t mean one of those usual things you read in the papers of a certain lot being developed, but a construction endeavor that can be felt on a very tangible, massive and concerted scale.

i think it has something to do with mid-range and long-term city planning to provide the infrastructure for the coming IRs, the new national stadium, the mrt city circle, the revamping of orchard road and other what-have-yous, all gearing towards the deadline of 2010 – 2012. i hope that the dust will settle within the next three years as planned.

i took the above pictures from a fast moving SBS bus along the ECP. the skyline is set to change yet again.
