death by paper cut

{May 10, 2008}   up and running again

work’s been so hectic that i rarely ever get the chance to run in the late afternoons. my previous work place was across the road from my previous home, so it was easy to leave work at 6pm and start my rounds by 6.15pm.

in order for me to start at 6pm now, i need to catch the 4.55pm express bus, but i rarely ever get done with the day’s work by then. hopefully i can use the mid year “break” to get work done in advance so that i can have more pockets of breathing space next semester.

my default long runs are now 10km along the ulu pandan park connector. however since i do not run with any water supply, i can’t perform as in a 10km organized marathon with drink stations placed along the way, resulting in a lot more walking stretches.

to fulfill my minimum two 10km marathons a year, i’ll sign up for the Great Eastern Women 10km in october and the annual standard charted singapore marathon in december. the shape run 2008 has been fully registered, pity – the goodie bag looks good.

i’ve recently came across a weekly run organized at my default route, i-run. although the name is rather cheesy and unimaginative, its a good idea nonetheless. no prior registration required, just turn up. another thing to start during the june hols. hopefully they provide water.
